At Fused, we offer 3D printing with concrete as part of our custom design and manufacturing services. This material gives the piece a distinct visual presence, while digital design allows for the study of curves, voids, and layering patterns before production.
How is concrete printing done?
In extrusion printing, the nozzle moves along a digital path, depositing a printable cementitious mixture layer upon layer. The choice of mixture and printing settings vary depending on the shape and application; the ease with which the material passes through the nozzle and its ability to retain its shape are crucial factors in the process.
Layers are part of the design language
The printing lines can be used to give a surface a rhythm and texture that differs from traditional cast surfaces. The development of the piece begins with the relationship between form and function: Where will it be placed? How will it be used? What dimensions will suit the space? Then we discuss the effect of layers, color, and the desired finish.
From model to implementation
Reviewing the prototype and texture sample helps clarify the outcome before project approval. Details such as piece thickness, weight, transportation, and installation are included in the implementation study, along with curing and finishing time. Therefore, the scope of work and deadline are determined after reviewing the design and site requirements.
Material selection according to use
Interior and exterior applications differ in their requirements, as do aesthetic needs and load-bearing applications. We define the intended use with you from the outset, outlining the necessary specifications and engineering assessments before approving any construction application. The material's name alone is insufficient to determine its suitability for the site.
Prepare your idea for the Fused team
Share images of the space or floor plan, dimensions, quantity, city, and target date. Attach a digital template if available, and specify the color, texture, and intended use. This information will allow us to discuss feasibility and develop a concept that suits your project.
Contact Fused to discuss your concrete printing project and turn the idea into a well-thought-out, feasible design.
